Marc David Pinate was the 2014 DePaul Awardee of the Edes Foundation Prize.
Marc David Pinate is a director and actor who has worked with noteworthy theaters across the country including the Magic Theatre, Campo Santo, El Teatro Campesino, and ShadowLight Productions in the Bay Area; Steppenwolf, Victory Gardens and American Theatre in Chicago; and locally at Borderlands Theater and Arizona Theatre Company. Marc was the recipient of a three-year directing residency at La Peña Cultural Center in Berkeley, California where he founded the Hybrid Performance Experiment known for their site specific performances on commuter trains.
He is a National Slam Poetry Champion and was the front man for the band, Grito Serpentino. Marc was a program director at Movimiento de Arte y Cultura Latino Americana, in San Jose, California and at the historic, Galería de la Raza, in San Francisco. He was part of the theatre faculty at San Jose State University and has an MFA in Directing from The Theatre School at DePaul University. He is the Producing Director at Borderlands Theater in Tucson, Arizona.
